iOS 8.0.2 is already here and you may be stuck with 8.0.1 unable to verify iOS 8.0.1 update.unable to verify update ios 8.0.1

This post will explain you how to delete iOS 8.0.1 update files if you downloaded it before Apple pulled it from their servers but you didn’t install it yet.

If you’re in that position then you probably got the following error message when trying to install the update on your iPhone or iPad during verification :

Unable to verify update.
ios 8.0.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet.

Lucky you, you won’t get any troubles related to this update. And don’t worry, your internet connexion is certainly fine. This error occurs because Apple pulled it from the servers to protect your device from no cell service and broken Touch ID.

But now, you are kind of stuck with this update consuming some of your precious iOS memory (even if you have already deleted all your stuff to update your device to iOS 8 since it requires several Gb to install).

To delete the files related to iOS 8.0.1 stuck in your phone, go to :
Settings > General > Usage > (Storage) Manage Storage > Select the update > Delete

Enjoy 8.0.2 !

    Great post. Thank you!

You have one minor detail wrong though. If you already have iOS8 installed, than the path is:
Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage

    Very helpful. Thanks again!
